Calorie Calculator
What is Calorie?
Calorie is a unit of measurement for calculating energy in edibles. Many times it is used to calculate energy levels of different kinds of diets and intake supplements. If we quantify it then, 1 calorie is equal to the total amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1gm of water by 1 Celsius.
Calories and their measurements in mathematical terms work as a baseline for executing our dietary ambitions and nutritional expectations. For example, if your required daily calorie intake is 2200 calories, then you are able to decide what to eat and what will be the exact amount and time to consume.
What is a Calorie Deficit?
Calorie deficit is defined as consuming a lesser amount of calories than your body requires on a daily basis for the maintenance of your weight. A person has to move to a calorie deficit if he is expecting to decrease his weight substantially. The intensity of your calorie deficit depends on the weight you are aiming at. If the weight you are expecting (i.e., 60) is far below your current weight (i.e., 90) then the severity of the deficit will be on the higher side. But one thing is necessary to remember that guidance and a proper diet plan is required to attain higher margins in a calorie deficit for maintaining optimal nutritional intake with your target weight.
What is Maintenance Calorie?
When you don’t want to change what you are in terms of weight and measurements, then you have to follow calorie maintenance. In other words, calorie maintenance is defined as maintaining the current nutritional and dietary intake balancing with your physical activity with the motive of maintaining your current body structure and weight.
Difference Between High Calorie and Low-Calorie Items
Calories of any edibles depend upon the composition and nutritional elements present in that food. Food containing high amounts of fats and sugars is generally high in calories, and food containing protein and carbs is considered low in calories. If we want to understand it by our household examples then edible oils and ghee that are high in fat and sweet items like sugar, jaggery, honey, and some fruits are high in calories. One thing that is necessary to remember is that being high in calories doesn’t make an item unhealthy, but it will fill up the quota of your maximum daily calorie intake if consumed more than moderation. On the other side, some low-calorie items can be substantially harmful as they can fill up your stomach’s daily capacity, and you miss out on daily nutritional intake.
Need of a Dietitian and Nutritionist
All the questions and cases I explained above are sufficient answers to the question of why a person needs a personalized diet plan and a dedicated nutritionist. In addition, the race for money in the modern era leaves behind care for health aspects in the race. So to enable a proper work-life balance you need a professional who will look after your body’s well-being. Because a wise man said, when you lose money you lose nothing, but when you lose health you lose everything.
